Amish Arts of Lancaster County (see below for a new twist on this program)

The Print Shop (see below for a new twist on this program)

After the tour, students can participate in an activity designed to enhance the learning experience.

  • Each student will create an exhibit-related project that will serve as a reminder of the museum visit.
  • The activity portion of the visit will take place in the Jasper Yeates House Education Center. Located at 24 S. Queen Street, 1/2 block from the museum, this renovated historic structure is equipped to accommodate large groups.
  • Brown-bag lunches may be eaten either before or after the program.
  • Once registered, teachers will receive a School Visit Preparation Guide with information about the museum and other materials.
  • Cost: FREE

New this year are new twists on two of our Exhibit Tour & Activity Programs:

The Amish of Lancaster County -- For a thorough study of Amish culture, visit both the Heritage Center and our friends at the Amish Experience (Rt. 340, Bird-in-Hand, just 25 min. from us). This option includes a 90-min. program at each location.  At Amish Experience, tour the Amish house and see "Jacob's Choice" in the theatre.  At the Heritage Center, choose the Amish Arts or Amish Quilts Exhibit Tour & Activity Program.  Only $8.75, minimum of 25 (teachers, chaperones and kids). One escort and driver per bus are complimentary. The Heritage Center will make all of the arrangements for you.  Learn more about Amish Experience.

The Print Shop -- Free tours are also available at Lancaster Newspapers to students in grades 3-12 or to community organizations.  Make a reservation at nie.LancasterOnline.com under Newspaper Tours.
